Things With Souls

With her delicate creations, Anita Klaiber tells the story of the origin of objects through a reverse metamorphosis and shows that worn items have extraordinary value. She wishes to transform things that may have lost their function, but that have kept their sentimental value. Recapturing the enchantment of abandoned objects or materials is the real purpose of this project.

Discover, preserve and convey the memories and stories they hold to strengthen the emotional attachment. The notion of sharing lies at the heart of this project.

At Silk in Lyon, she will present her “Butterties”: old silk ties that have been transformed into butterflies and attached to pins or decorative objects, either framed or placed in a glass bell jar.
