How is the silk given all its finishing glory ?
Finishing is the final step in the silk manufacturing process.
It includes all the operations that occur after weaving and give the silk its final and unique appearance.
The fabric undergoes scouring to remove any sericin on the yarn, thus achieving a soft, shiny fabric that is receptive to dye penetration. It can then be dyed, printed, painted or have a finish applied for an unparalleled sensation to the touch.
